Our 6mm clear heat shrink tubing is ideal for luminaire assembly, providing discreet protection that keeps cables looking good, even when covered in coloured fabric.
Heat shrink tubing, also known as thermal protection tubing, is used to protect electrical connections and wires from physical damage, shock and vibration. It is wrapped around the wiring and, when heated, shrinks to form a strong, durable sheath around the wires.
Its initial internal diameter is 6mm, which shrinks to a minimum of 2mm after heating. The inner surface of the tube is covered with a hot-melt adhesive which, under the effect of heat, impregnates and fuses with the cable, offering superior adhesion and watertightness to standard sheaths.
