Electrical safety information.
In terms of electrical connectivity, this porcelain lampholder will be installed with wiring including phase and neutral, earthing is possible, a small hole is available on the side of the jumper to connect a small earth cable on a round lug, some pre-wired earth cables are available at the bottom of the product data sheet.
For obvious aesthetic reasons, it is difficult to envisage using a large 230 volt 2P + earth plug or socket for a floor-mounted lamp. More commonly, a flat 2-pin plug is used, allowing only phase and neutral to be connected using a two-conductor cable.
This connection without earthing is possible, but it is essential to use an anti-pull-out system for the cable coming out of the lamp. Various cable locking devices can be installed, either in the base of the lamp or directly in the bottom of the lampholder.
These small plastic mechanisms have an anti-rotation and anti-pull function for your power supply cable.
These cable locks are available in the 'You'll like them too' section at the bottom of the product sheet.
